# Judge.me Alternatives: Six Apps, and Why Most Should Stay

Most Shopify stores should stay on [Judge.me](https://apps.shopify.com/judgeme). It runs on 592,507 stores, holds 5.0 stars from 48,088 reviews, and it is the only review app in the category with no order cap on any plan — free or paid. Every alternative below meters you by monthly orders, so leaving Judge.me means taking on a bill that grows with your sales.

Six apps are still worth the switch, each for one specific job: **Loox** for photo and video reviews that look designed rather than bolted on, **Okendo** for attribute filtering and zero-party data, **Stamped** for reviews and loyalty under one vendor, **Yotpo** if you are already inside [Yotpo](https://apps.shopify.com/yotpo-social-reviews)'s suite, **Rivyo** for the cheapest paid ladder, and **AG Product Reviews** if you want a second free app with unlimited reviews.

## Key takeaways

- [Judge.me](https://apps.shopify.com/judgeme) is the only app here with no order cap. Its free plan carries unlimited product and store reviews, unlimited photo and video reviews, Google sync and the AliExpress importer.
- Judge.me's paid tier is $15 a month and adds AI replies, 130+ integrations, 16 widgets and coupons. There is no second paid tier to graduate to.
- [Loox](https://apps.shopify.com/loox)'s pricing contains a trap: the free Beginner plan allows 500 monthly orders, while the $49.99 Convert plan includes only 300 and charges $50 per additional 300. A 500-order store pays nothing on Beginner and at least $49.99 on Convert, with 200 orders sitting outside the included block.
- [Okendo](https://apps.shopify.com/okendo-reviews) is the only app here that captures structured customer attributes at review time and turns them into on-site filters. That capability, not review collection, is what its $119 to $299 plans buy.
- [Stamped](https://apps.shopify.com/product-reviews-addon) is the only app in this group with no free plan at all. It starts at $23 a month for 200 orders, and its reviews and loyalty products are billed separately.
- [Yotpo](https://apps.shopify.com/yotpo-social-reviews) and Klaviyo-style external billing applies here: Yotpo's listing warns that some charges arrive outside your Shopify invoice, and both paid tiers say pricing changes with order volume without publishing the schedule.

## Why the review app matters more than its feature list

Reviews are not a trust ornament. Northwestern University's [Spiegel Research Center](https://spiegel.medill.northwestern.edu/how-online-reviews-influence-sales/) found that purchase likelihood for a product with five reviews is 270% greater than for the same product with none, that displaying reviews lifted conversion 190% for lower-priced items and 380% for higher-priced ones, and that a verified-buyer badge improves the odds of purchase by 15%. The same research found the marginal benefit flattens after roughly five reviews, and that the most persuasive average rating sits between 4.0 and 4.7 rather than at a perfect 5.0.

Three consequences follow, and they are what you should actually be comparing these apps on.

First, **collection rate beats display polish**. Getting from zero to five reviews on a long tail of products is the job. An app that sends better request emails and makes the form easier to finish is worth more than one with prettier widgets.

Second, **the verified-buyer badge has to survive your setup**. It is worth 15% on its own, and it only appears if the app can tie the review to a real order.

Third, **structured markup decides whether any of this shows in search**. Google's [review snippet documentation](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/review-snippet) sets what a review app has to emit for stars to appear on the results page, and [Baymard Institute's review UX research](https://baymard.com/blog/product-review-ux) covers what shoppers do with reviews once they land on the page.

## How these apps compare

Every rating, review count and price below was read from each app's live Shopify App Store listing on 7 October 2026, and each app name links to its listing so you can check it in one click. Install counts are the number of live Shopify stores running the app on the same date.

| App | Installs | Rating / reviews | Free plan | Entry paid plan |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Judge.me | 592,507 | 5.0 / 48,088 | unlimited, no order cap | $15 |
| Loox | 129,584 | 4.9 / 9,766 | 500 orders | $49.99 |
| Yotpo Reviews | 37,639 | 4.8 / 4,626 | 50 orders | $15 |
| Ryviu | 34,288 | 4.8 / 517 | 50 products | $6.99 |
| Stamped | 31,212 | 4.7 / 3,753 | none | $23 |
| AG Product Reviews | 27,304 | 5.0 / 3,172 | fully free | none |
| Okendo | 19,344 | 4.8 / 1,427 | 50 orders | $19 |
| Rivyo | 8,530 | 4.9 / 934 | 100 orders | $9 |

![Judge.me listing on the Shopify App Store](https://cdn-web.joy.so/cdn/image/2026/10/listing-judgeme-2026-10-07-0bc441.png)

_Judge.me, 7 October 2026: 5.0 from 48,088 reviews, and a free plan with unlimited reviews and no order cap._

[Judge.me](https://apps.shopify.com/judgeme) has 4.6 times the installs of the next app and 4.9 times the reviews, and it is the cheapest at every volume because it does not count your orders. Switching has to be justified by a job it does not do.

## 1. Loox — photo and video reviews as merchandising

**Best for:** stores where the product sells on how it looks on a real person or in a real room — apparel, furniture, jewellery, beauty — and where the review wall is part of the page design rather than a widget at the bottom.

**Not ideal for:** stores between 300 and 500 monthly orders. [Loox](https://apps.shopify.com/loox)'s own free plan is cheaper than its paid one in that band, and the upgrade buys capability rather than headroom.

![Loox product reviews listing on the Shopify App Store](https://cdn-web.joy.so/cdn/image/2026/10/listing-loox-2026-10-07-330184.png)

_Loox, same day: 4.9 from 9,766 reviews. The free plan allows 500 monthly orders; the $49.99 plan includes 300._

129,584 installs, 4.9 stars from 9,766 reviews.

**What it actually does**

- Offers a discount automatically in exchange for a photo review. This is the mechanic Loox was built around, and it is the reason its photo-review rate tends to beat apps where photos are optional.
- 17+ widgets including snippets, carousels and a review wall, with Google rich snippets and schema on the free plan.
- Turns reviews into social posts and stories, and syndicates to the Shop app on free, then Google, Meta and TikTok on Convert.
- Referrals, both post-purchase and on-site — no other app in this list [bundles a referral programme with reviews](https://joy.so/blog/shopify-referral-apps/).
- AI smart sorting, review highlights, summaries, stories, translations and replies, all on Convert and above.

**What to check before you commit**

Beginner is free to 500 monthly orders. Convert is $49.99 and includes 300 orders, then $50 per additional 300. A store doing 500 orders pays nothing on Beginner and, on Convert, $49.99 plus whatever those 200 extra orders cost — the listing prices additions in blocks of 300 at $50 and does not say how a partial block is charged, so the bill is $49.99 or $99.99 and Loox does not publish which. Either way the paid plan includes 200 fewer orders than the free one. Convert is also where video reviews, API access and webhooks live, so the upgrade is a capability purchase — just do not assume the paid plan is the bigger one. Unlimited is $299.99.

The deeper question with Loox is whether you will actually run the discount-for-photo mechanic. If you will not, you are paying for the one thing that distinguishes it.

## 2. Okendo — structured attributes, not just stars

**Best for:** beauty, apparel and supplement brands where the buying question is "will this work for someone like me" — skin type, hair type, fit, body shape, sensitivity. [Okendo](https://apps.shopify.com/okendo-reviews) captures those attributes at review time and turns them into filters a shopper uses before buying.

**Not ideal for:** stores above 3,500 monthly orders, where the published ladder ends, or any store whose products do not vary by customer type. Filtering by skin type is worthless on a catalogue of phone cables.

![Okendo Reviews and Loyalty listing on the Shopify App Store](https://cdn-web.joy.so/cdn/image/2026/10/listing-okendo-reviews-2026-10-07-c2c425.png)

_Okendo, 7 October 2026: 4.8 from 1,427 reviews, and $299 a month once you pass 1,500 orders._

19,344 installs, 4.8 stars from 1,427 reviews.

**What it actually does**

- Okendo's smart review form captures structured customer attributes and converts them into on-site filters. This is the capability the rest of the list does not have at all.
- A review rewards engine, review grouping across variants and parent products, and moderation, all on the free plan.
- AI review summaries and keywords, a Q&A widget and TikTok Shop integration from Growth at $119.
- Review campaigns, an advanced CSS editor, email and SMS integrations and managed onboarding from Power at $299.
- Loyalty inside the same app, which is why Okendo also ranks in the loyalty category.

**What to check before you commit**

The caps are tight and they escalate fast: free stops at 50 monthly orders, Essential at 200 for $19, Growth at 1,500 for $119, Power at 3,500 for $299. A store at 1,600 orders pays $299 a month where [Judge.me](https://apps.shopify.com/judgeme) charges $15. You are buying the attribute data, and it has to be worth $284 a month.

Here is the honest test. Open five of your product pages and write down the question a hesitant shopper is actually asking. If the answer is a customer attribute, Okendo earns its price. If the answer is "is this real", a verified-buyer badge on a free app answers it for nothing.

## 3. Stamped — one vendor for reviews and loyalty

**Best for:** stores that want a single vendor relationship covering reviews and a points programme, and whose procurement prefers one contract over two.

**Not ideal for:** anyone who wants to try before buying. [Stamped](https://apps.shopify.com/product-reviews-addon) has no free plan, and it is the lowest-rated app in this comparison.

![Stamped Reviews and Loyalty listing on the Shopify App Store](https://cdn-web.joy.so/cdn/image/2026/10/listing-product-reviews-addon-2026-10-07-2dcd97.png)

_Stamped, 7 October 2026: 4.7 from 3,753 reviews — the lowest rating here, and the only app with no free plan._

31,212 installs, 4.7 stars from 3,753 reviews.

**What it actually does**

- Stamped puts in-email review collection, customisable on-site widgets, photo and video UGC, and Google and Klaviyo integrations on every tier.
- A separate Loyalty product line with customisable earning rules, on-site widgets, pre-built email and SMS templates and program analytics.

**What to check before you commit**

Reviews and loyalty are priced as separate products, not as tiers of one. Reviews runs $23 for 200 monthly orders, $99 for 1,000 and $199 for 5,000. Loyalty is [$299 for 5,000 orders](https://joy.so/blog/shopify-loyalty-app-pricing/). A store wanting both at 5,000 orders is looking at $498 a month before anything else.

Read the three Reviews tiers side by side and you will notice the feature list is identical word for word across all three. The only variable is the order cap. That is worth knowing before you budget for an upgrade expecting new capability.

## 4. Yotpo Reviews — only if you already own Yotpo

**Best for:** brands already running [Yotpo](https://apps.shopify.com/yotpo-social-reviews) Loyalty, SMS or subscriptions, where keeping reviews in the same account removes a data-sync problem rather than creating one.

**Not ideal for:** anyone buying reviews alone. The free plan stops at 50 monthly orders, and neither paid tier publishes what it costs at your volume.

![Yotpo Product Reviews listing on the Shopify App Store](https://cdn-web.joy.so/cdn/image/2026/10/listing-yotpo-social-reviews-2026-10-07-9ed4c8.png)

_Yotpo Reviews, 7 October 2026: 4.8 from 4,626 reviews, and a notice that some charges are billed outside Shopify._

37,639 installs, 4.8 stars from 4,626 reviews.

**What it actually does**

- Automatic review requests, an email template library, sentiment and profanity checks and on-site display on the free plan.
- Google rich snippets, Google Shopping Ads, photo and video collection and a reviews carousel from Starter at $15.
- Google Seller Rating, custom questions, AI review summaries and smart sorting from Pro at $119.

**What to check before you commit**

Two lines on this listing appear on no other listing in the group. First, a notice that external charges may be billed by Yotpo separately from your Shopify invoice — part of what you pay will not appear on the bill your finance team reconciles inside Shopify. Second, both paid tiers carry "pricing changes based on order volume" with no published schedule.

You can price the first 50 orders exactly and nothing after that. For a brand already inside the suite that is a known quantity; for anyone else it is a quote request dressed as a price list.

## 5. Rivyo — the cheapest paid ladder, with add-ons

**Best for:** small stores that have outgrown a free plan's import limits and want the lowest possible paid price with an unlimited top tier at $19.

**Not ideal for:** stores that need loyalty or referrals from the same vendor without paying twice, and anyone who weights public track record heavily. 934 reviews is a thin base next to the leaders.

![Rivyo Product Reviews listing on the Shopify App Store](https://cdn-web.joy.so/cdn/image/2026/10/listing-rivyo-product-review-2026-10-07-c61ede.png)

_Rivyo, 7 October 2026: 4.9 from 934 reviews, with loyalty and referrals sold as $9 add-ons on every plan._

8,530 installs, 4.9 stars from 934 reviews.

**What it actually does**

- Unlimited product reviews and unlimited CSV import on the free plan, with collection capped at 100 orders a month.
- Review booster campaigns, smart review forms, auto-reminder emails and unlimited Q&A from Starter at $9.
- QR code review collection — useful for packaging inserts and in-store — plus review rewards via coupon code, product grouping and Google Shopping from Business at $14.
- AI Review Autopilot, unlimited orders, emails and video reviews on Enterprise at $19.

**What to check before you commit**

[Rivyo](https://apps.shopify.com/rivyo-product-review) sells the loyalty programme and the referral rewards as $9 a month add-ons each, and they remain add-ons on every plan including the $19 Enterprise tier. Reviews, loyalty and referrals together is $37 a month. Still cheap, and twice what the headline suggests. Annual billing takes 20% off.

## 6. AG Product Reviews — a second genuinely free option

**Best for:** stores that want unlimited reviews at zero cost and did not get on with [Judge.me](https://apps.shopify.com/judgeme)'s interface or its widget styling.

**Not ideal for:** stores that want a published upgrade path, or an integration ecosystem to grow into. There is no paid tier, which is the appeal and the ceiling.

![AG Product Reviews and UGC listing on the Shopify App Store](https://cdn-web.joy.so/cdn/image/2026/10/listing-air-reviews-2026-10-07-dbbde2.png)

_AG Product Reviews, 7 October 2026: 5.0 from 3,172 reviews, free with no paid tier and no order cap._

27,304 installs, 5.0 stars from 3,172 reviews. It is built by Avada, the same company that builds Joy, so treat this section as a disclosure rather than a recommendation.

**What it actually does**

- [AG Product Reviews](https://apps.shopify.com/air-reviews) gives unlimited product reviews, photos and testimonials with no order cap and no paid tier.
- Flexible widgets, automated review request emails, discounts offered in exchange for reviews, and SEO snippets.

**What to check before you commit**

The rating distribution is 97% five-star and 3% four-star, with 17 one-star reviews out of 3,172. Read the one-star reviews and the most recent ones rather than the average — with a free app there is no revenue signal telling you how committed the vendor is to it, so recency of support replies is the thing worth checking.

## 7. Ryviu — built for imported reviews

**Best for:** dropshipping and import-heavy catalogues that need reviews pulled from AliExpress, Amazon, Etsy, Walmart and DHgate, where seeding a new catalogue matters more than collecting first-party reviews.

**Not ideal for:** brands building on first-party proof. [Ryviu](https://apps.shopify.com/ryviu)'s plans are structured around product and review import limits rather than order volume, which tells you what it is optimised for — and imported reviews do not carry a verified-buyer badge on your store.

![Ryviu Reviews and Loyalty listing on the Shopify App Store](https://cdn-web.joy.so/cdn/image/2026/10/listing-ryviu-2026-10-07-782d19.png)

_Ryviu, 7 October 2026: 4.8 from 517 reviews against 34,288 installs — about one review per 66 stores._

34,288 installs, 4.8 stars from 517 reviews.

**What it actually does**

- Ryviu imports from AliExpress on the free plan; Amazon and Shopee from Basic at $6.99; Etsy, Walmart and DHgate from Advance at $9.99.
- Caps on products and reviews rather than orders: 50 products and 20 reviews each on free, 400 and 200 on Basic, 1,000 and 500 on Advance, unlimited at $19.99.
- A Loyalty & Rewards add-on at $15 a month, included on the $19.99 Unlimited plan.

**What to check before you commit**

517 reviews against 34,288 installs is roughly one review per 66 stores; [Judge.me](https://apps.shopify.com/judgeme)'s ratio is about one per 12. The install base is large and the public feedback behind it is thin.

Also weigh the strategy, not just the app. Imported reviews solve a cold-start problem and they do not produce the verified-buyer signal the Spiegel research found worth 15%.

## Which one to pick

Stay on **Judge.me** if your decision is about reviews. Nothing in this list beats unlimited reviews with no order cap at $0, or the same with AI and 130+ integrations at $15.

Move to **Loox** if photo and video reviews are a merchandising decision and you will run the discount-for-photo mechanic, and check the 300-versus-500 order arithmetic before upgrading. Move to **Okendo** if a hesitant shopper's real question is a customer attribute, and you can carry $119 to $299 a month. Move to **Stamped** or **Yotpo** only when the reviews app is following a loyalty or SMS decision you have already made.

If reviews are settled and loyalty is the open question, the same measured comparison exists for [the loyalty category](https://joy.so/blog/shopify-loyalty-apps/), and [Judge.me, Okendo and Yotpo compared on reviews and loyalty together](https://joy.so/blog/judgeme-vs-okendo-vs-yotpo/) covers the overlap directly. For turning reviews into repeat orders rather than trust signals, [rewarding customers for reviews with loyalty points](https://joy.so/updates/joy-ag-product-reviews-app-ugc/) is the mechanic to read next.

## Frequently asked questions

**Is Judge.me really free?** Yes. The Forever Free plan carries unlimited product and store reviews, unlimited photo and video reviews, the review widget and star rating badge, carousels, Google reviews sync and rich snippets, trust badges, Shop App, Etsy and Amazon sync, and the reviews importer. There is no order cap. The $15 Awesome plan adds AI, 130+ integrations, 16 widgets, coupons and referrals, and Google Shopping.

**What is the best free alternative to Judge.me?** [AG Product Reviews](https://apps.shopify.com/air-reviews), which is free with no order cap and holds 5.0 stars from 3,172 reviews. Loox's free Beginner plan is the other option and allows up to 500 monthly orders.

**Which Judge.me alternative is best for photo reviews?** [Loox](https://apps.shopify.com/loox). It is built around offering a discount in exchange for a photo review, and its 17+ widgets are designed for displaying them.

**Does Okendo cost more than Judge.me?** Substantially. [Okendo](https://apps.shopify.com/okendo-reviews)'s Growth plan is $119 a month for up to 1,500 monthly orders and Power is $299 for up to 3,500. [Judge.me](https://apps.shopify.com/judgeme) charges $15 with no order cap. Okendo's case rests on attribute filtering and zero-party data, not on review collection.

**How many reviews does a product need?** Northwestern's Spiegel Research Center found purchase likelihood for a product with five reviews is 270% greater than with none, and that the marginal benefit flattens after about five. Getting every product to five beats getting a few products to fifty.

**Why do so many stores use Judge.me?** No order cap. Every other major review app meters by monthly orders, so their cost rises as a store grows. Judge.me's does not, which is why it runs on 592,507 stores as of 7 October 2026.
