# Birthday month discounts, weekend deals — your exclusive discount now runs on its own schedule.

## Why this matters

[Member exclusive deals](https://help.joy.so/membership/member-exclusive-deal/) can now run on a dynamic date. Set a deal once and Joy activates it during each customer's birthday month, every weekend, or on the days you choose.

### Run a birthday-month deal automatically

Choose Month of birth and the discount is active for each customer during their own birthday month. You no longer configure it customer by customer.

### Repeat weekend and fixed-day deals

Weekend activates the deal every Saturday and Sunday. Specific day of week and Specific day of month repeat it on the days you select.

### Stop resetting dates every month

A dynamic date replaces the monthly routine of re-entering dates and switching the deal on and off. You set the schedule once and the deal follows it.

> Create one deal with **Month of birth** as its dynamic date. Customers find the discount active when they visit your store during their birthday month.

## How to access and use

### Step 1: Open Member exclusive deal

In Joy, go to **Membership → Member exclusive deal** and click **Add new deal**, or click an existing deal to edit it.

### Step 2: Choose a dynamic date

Under **Active dates**, select **Dynamic date**, then pick **Month of birth**, **Weekend**, **Specific day of month**, or **Specific day of week**.

### Step 3: Save and add the block

Save your changes. If the deal bar is not on your storefront yet, select **Go to theme**, add the **Joy: Exclusive Deal** block in the **Apps** section, and click **Save**.

## Good to know

**Static date** remains available for a deal with a fixed start and end date.

## Frequently asked questions

### What do non-members see on the product page?

An invitation to join. For non-members, the Exclusive Deal bar encourages them to join your loyalty program to unlock the deal.

### Can I cap how many times a deal is used?

Yes. Set a per-customer limit for a lifetime, day, week, month, or year, and a total deal limit across all customers. Both start at no limit.

### Which discounts can a member exclusive deal offer?

A discount amount, a discount percentage, free shipping, or bonus points. You also choose what it covers: all orders, selected products, selected collections, or all except selected.
