How to set it up
Step 1 — Enable Instagram Live Comment rewards. In Joy, go to Reward Programs → Earn Points → Social Activity → Instagram Live Comment Rewards and activate the program. Configure points per comment, daily earning caps, and member-only restrictions. See the Instagram Live Comment Rewards setup guide for full configuration.
Step 2 — Make sure customer Instagram usernames are on file. Joy matches Live comments to loyalty accounts via Instagram username. Customers connect their Instagram handle through Joy's loyalty widget or social login flow. Without the username, the comment is still detected — but points can only be credited once the match is confirmed.
Step 3 — (Optional) Build your Shopify Flow automation. In Shopify Flow, create a workflow with the trigger "Customer commented on Instagram Live". Chain Klaviyo events, Shopify tags, Slack notifications, or any Flow-compatible action. See Joy × Shopify Flow for example workflows.
