Why this matters

A VIP tier entry reward set to Discount amount now has a second value type: Variant price difference (auto-calculated). Joy issues a coupon worth the gap between a base variant and its upgrade, so reaching the tier pays for the upgrade.

  • Give a tier the upgraded variant

Choose the variant customers normally pay for as the Base and the one you want them to get as the Upgrade. The coupon covers the difference and applies to the upgrade variant only.

  • Stop setting a value per product

Joy calculates the coupon value from the two variant prices, so there is no amount to type or update. Reprice the product and the reward follows the new prices.

  • Apply it to any paid upgrade

Use it wherever the better version costs more: made-to-measure or engraving, premium materials, a larger size, or a gift-box add-on.

Try this
On a dress sold as Ready-to-wear and Made-to-measure, set Ready-to-wear as the Base and Made-to-measure as the Upgrade. A member who reaches the tier pays the ready-to-wear price for the made-to-measure dress.

How to access and use

  1. Step 1: Open a tier

Go to Membership → VIP Tiers → Tiers and open a higher tier. Entry rewards on your lowest tier reach almost everyone.

  2. Step 2: Add the entry reward

Under Entry reward, choose Discount amount, then set Value type to Variant price difference (auto-calculated).

  3. Step 3: Pick the variant pair

Select a product with at least two variants, then choose its Base and Upgrade variants. The upgrade must cost more than the base.

  4. Step 4: Save the tier

Save your changes. The reward applies to customers who reach the tier from then on.

Frequently asked questions

Can I still give a fixed amount off as an entry reward?

Yes. A Discount amount entry reward keeps Fixed amount as a value type, and it takes a set amount off exactly as before.

Do the Base and Upgrade variants have to share a product?

Yes. Both variants must belong to the same product, because the coupon value is the price gap between two versions of one item.

Which plan do I need for VIP Tiers?

VIP Tiers run on the Advanced and Ultimate plans. Within VIP Tiers, the Variant price difference value type is limited to Ultimate.
